Christian Leadership Seminar - International School for Holocaust Studies in Jerusalem

Twenty-three Christian leaders from eight countries gathered at the International School for Holocaust Studies in Jerusalem for the first ever international Christian Leadership Seminar. Of those twenty-three leaders from around the world, two were from North Alabama - Rev. Jim Bevis (CSR Ministries - Florence, AL), and Pastor Patrick Penn (The Dwelling Place - Huntsville, AL).

Please see the CBN News article and highlight with brief video clip below. In addition Jim recently shared in Florence with the Jewish and Christian community about the historic trip, and Patrick is beginning a teaching series, "Lessons from the Shoah (Holocaust)" to share what he learned from this trip (see flyer below).

In a time when holocaust denial is growing, and even given place on the world stage both before and from heads of state, it is vital we understand not only what happened, but the sign posts along the way, and the progressive sentiment and stages that led toward what was eventually considered the final and only solution (extermination of the Jews).

Yad Vashem
The International Holocuast Memorial in Jerusalem

"And to them will I give in my house and within my walls
a memorial and a name (a "yad vashem") ...
that shall not be cut off." (Isaiah 65:5)

As the Jewish people’s living memorial to the Holocaust, Yad Vashem safeguards the memory of the past and imparts its meaning for future generations. Established in 1953, as the world center for documentation, research, education and commemoration of the Holocaust, Yad Vashem is today a dynamic and vital place of intergenerational and international encounter.

For over half a century, Yad Vashem has been committed to four pillars of remembrance: Commemoration, Documentation, Research, Education
